Cancellation Policy:

Space is very limited for these classes. Please notify us of any cancellations as early as possible so that we can make the space available to someone on a waiting list. Cancellations must be made by email to: dwerner@tmstraining.com
bulletReservations may be cancelled up to 7 days (168 hours) from the start of the first class day with no penalty.
bulletCancellations made less than 168 hours from the start of the first class day will be subject to a fee equal to 50% of the class tuition.
bulletNo-shows with no advance cancellation are subject to full tuition fees.

Materials that will be provided to all students:

bulletPrinted handouts containing PowerPoint slides from Day 1 and tutorial information for the day 2 hands-on session.
bulletCD-ROM containing:
bulletSetup program for installing TMS Millennium.
bulletCopies of the PowerPoint slideshow.
bulletElectrical power for notebook PC's.

Very Important:

These materials must be brought to the class by each student:

bulletPen or pencil
bulletNotebook Computer meeting the following minimum requirements:
bulletPentium IV CPU
bulletWindows XP or Windows 2000 OS
(Student must have administrative rights allowing them to install software and write to the Windows Registry on the notebook PC. Please contact your Information Services department to ensure that you have been given these rights.)
bullet512 MB of RAM
bullet500 MB of free HDD space
bullet800x600 screen resolution
bulletMouse, touch-pad, or similar pointing device.
(An external mouse is highly recommended. It will greatly increase your learning experience.)
bullet110V power supply
bulletCD-ROM drive required to install software
bulletNote: This course does not teach you how to operate your laptop computer.
The student must be familiar with setting up and operating the notebook PC that he/she brings to the class. Please familiarize yourself with the keyboard, mouse, power supply, etc. so that you will be prepared for the training.

Topics to be Covered:

Day One:

bulletDefine and explain the entities associated with TMS, such as Activities, Modules, Sessions, Persons, Employees, Instructors, Students, Subjects, Presenters, and more. Illustrate how they interact to provide power and flexibility in TMS.
bulletExplain the numerous data enhancements including, but certainly not limited to:
bulletUnlimited Addresses, Phones, Email Addresses
bulletLink to Photos and Documents. Edit these from within TMS.
bulletEmployee History Table
bulletCertifications for Employees, Activities, Modules, Students, Presenters, Subjects and more
bulletTraining Plan enhancements with support for countless training requirement provisions, including POST Perishable Skills (PST) and Continuing Professional Training (CPT) requirements
bulletInstall TMS Millennium on student PC's for use in the "Hands-On" training on Day 2.
bulletTake students through a hands-on "Test Drive" of TMS Millennium.
bulletDiscover the new "Data Explorer" interface and learn how this new design helps to organize the new TMS entities, making their relationships easier to understand. Learn how to navigate through the "Data Tree" to locate and edit the data you need.
bulletIllustrate the new productivity enhancements like "Quickfill" fields, "Wildcard" fields, "Add-on-the-Fly" lookups, right-click time savers, and date field shortcuts.
bulletExplore the Report Selector to access reporting enhancements provided by inclusion of the Crystal Reports reporting engine.

Day Two:

This is a hands-on "Bring Your Own Laptop" training session. All students are to bring a notebook computer on which the TMS Millennium program will be installed on Day 1. Students will follow along in our "day in the life of a Training Manager" as we:

bulletAdd Address, Phone, Email information for the Person
bulletAdd Emergency Contact information for the Person

bulletSchedule a simple single-subject Training Activity
bulletAdd a new Subject "on-the-fly"
bulletSchedule a Person for the training.
bulletSend a Training Memo
bulletSchedule a complex Training Activity
bulletAdd multiple Modules and Sessions
bulletAdd multiple Addresses associated with the Presenter
bulletLink these to the appropriate Sessions
bulletSchedule a group of Persons for a Module
bulletCopy the Students from one Module to another
bulletAdd itemized Training Costs for the Activity
bulletAdd and Transfer Property Items
bulletAdd Simple single Item
bulletTransfer single Item to a Person
bulletAdd Property record representing a large quantity of similar items
bulletDistribute some of these Items to a Person.
