TMS supports the California POST policy of using Peace Officer ID Numbers in lieu of Social Security Numbers. Effective July 1, 2007, each person who has been reported to POST on a Notice of Appointment form will be issued a unique Peace Officer ID # that will identify them in the POST database. These ID numbers will be required in lieu of Social Security Numbers on January 1, 2008. The September 2007 release will support the POST ID Numbers in the following ways:

bulletStores the POST ID Number as a Person ID Number in the TMS Persons Explorer.
bulletPrints the POST ID Number in the "POST ID / Social Security" column on the POST 2-111 Course Roster form.
bulletPrints the POST ID Number in the "POST ID / Social Security" column on the POST 2-273 Training Reimbursement Request form.
bulletThanks to the exceptional cooperation of the folks at POST, TMS will be able import a "Transition File" containing the POST ID Numbers for your personnel. This file will be provided to you upon request from POST. A sample request letter to be used to obtain this file is available to all subscribers to the TMS Support Service.
